Originally known as National Native Bible College, Aboriginal Bible Academy (ABA) was founded in 1978 having an initial purpose of training First Nations people to become effective communicators of the gospel. It continues to be our mandate to serve all Canadian Aboriginal people (First Nations, Métis & Inuit) with the purpose of helping to train and equip indigenous leadership for Christian ministry. However, we are also able to assist any individuals (regardless of Aboriginal status) who desire to study through a distance education system (that can also include an online component), coupled with the added element of modular classes being offered so that the student can experience the additional benefit of pupil teacher interaction.
One of the primary directives of ABA is to provide quality biblical training for any individual who is interested in furthering their Bible knowledge while also improving ones practical Christian service. As of 2005, ABA has had the approval from Global University to provide nation wide service of all Diploma & Certificate programs offered by “Berean School of the Bible”, which is the adult continuing education program of Global University. All courses completed by the students will be credited through Global University. The courses are ideal for personal enrichment as well as for ministerial and church leadership training. The curriculum is extremely versatile and may be offered in a variety of delivery methods.
Although Berean School of the Bible courses are not at college degree level, transcripts are maintained and a diploma is offered to validate completion of studies. For every course completion with a mark of 80% or higher, the student receives a credit which is transferrable to any electives in Global University’s undergraduate studies. For those students who are not interested or in some cases not quite ready for this level of instruction, we do offer a Christian growth studies course (with certificate of completion) that focuses on Christian fundamentals and discipleship.
Aboriginal Bible Academy ministers in full cooperation with the Eastern Ontario District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada and we would welcome the opportunity to work together with your church/ministry to assist in the teaching and training of indigenous leadership that may be in your area. Perhaps we could even assist in the training of your own lay leadership in your church or ministry.
In any event, we do covet your prayers and support if at this present time your church is not in need of Biblical leadership development. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding our area of ministry or if you are interested in partnering with us.
We pray that in some small way we can assist your efforts in encouraging those who are inside your circle of influence.
In His service,Rev. Dan Collado Director
